did think there was something the OP wasn't considering - this trailer he's talking about is WAY beyond the capabilities of his 1/2 ton Silverado ... and I'm speaking from the position of owning the same truck and having towed with several variations of it since 2006. Hey, the OP can do whatever he chooses but
he asked for comment on his plans. :S
