Racking up the miles.







I changed the oil, filter and rotated the tires yesterday.
I do this every 5000 miles. I'm guessing that I've changed the oil somewhere around 38 times. :E

It has only been in the shop once and that was at 180,000 miles for a new fuel pump. Other than that only a few light bulbs.




I checked the factory brake pads while I had the tires off and there's still plenty of pad.

This has been an excellent truck.

I was always a Ford man but for a few reasons I bought a Chevy.
I had a hard time finding a regular cab pickup.

I'd call and ask if they had one n the lot and the standard reply was, "why do you want a regular cab?"

My response was, "Well I guess you don't. Have a nice day". click

    Good truck... I'm at +180k miles and had brake pads replaced at around 125k miles. I do a lot of driving in Houston.

    Very impressive! My mom got to 98,000 miles on her 1997 Blazer on original brakes and tires before giving it to my sister with still a little life left. Mom cruises down the highway very gently

    Ah the benefits of the GM 6.0.... I spoke to a guy a few weeks ago that has an 08 model. Pulls trailers for his land clearing business all day. Got over 300k so far with nothing but a few batteries, water pump and brakes ... .I hope the new 6.6 last as long.

    Does Utah use a lot of salt / road de-icer in the winter? Asking due to the severity of rust on the brake components.

    The past 180,000 miles for me meant 12 oil changes and I'm just about ready for my 4th truck. It seems to me that unless you're going to keep a truck for more than 10 years you might just as well trade it every 2 or 3. Nice shop!

    I do quite a bit of hwy driving however I'm on my 6th set of tires.

    I don't know why the new 6.6 wont be a great engine, even in its first year out.

    GM didn't reinvent a new engine, they just upgraded a already great engine.

    That's all they use. 100% salt.

    We have The Great Salt Lake, Bonneville Salt Flats and we are the home of Morton Salt. LOL

    If I went by the truck's indicator I could go 10,000 between oil changes or 20,000 as per the oil recommendations.

    I bought this one when t was two years old with 20,000 miles on it.

    I keep my vehicles until there's nothing left of them so I change the oil and filter every 5000.

    It still doesn't use any between oil changes.

    The shop isn't mine. :( I just have access to it when ever I need it.
