Well, the trucks are typically smaller in Australia.
In California, it is about a 3 hour drive from rainforest, to ocean beach, to alpine mountains, to open plains, to desert. Ranging from 200' below sea level to 14,000 ft above, and annual rainfalls from less than 2"/yr to over 150"/yr. That 3 hour drive is typically on the freeway though, not along cowtracks and through streams :).
