Raise TT with taller equalizer

I'll be installing a Mor-Ryde heavy duty shackle kit and would like to make a change to the trailers height while I'm at it.
When it's hitched up the nose is slightly high but the bubble is within the lines. I cant adjust the hitch head to get it any closer.
Since I'll have it all apart I thought I would install a 1" taller equalizer (the part between the springs) which should raise the whole trailer about .5".
Does anybody have any thoughts on whether this could cause any unforeseen issues?
I realize this will change the geometry of the spring action slightly but I can t see what that would hurt.

I welcome your thoughts.

Thanks in advance,
Scott
  • BTW, I called eTrailer and she didn't think it would be a problem.

If I understand all this correctly, the 0.5" height increase at the trailer axles will only improve things by increasing the trailer tilt toward the hitch head, reducing the "nose high".
  • Should work fine. It really isn't that big of a deal, but since you will be there anyways... Why not?

Ya, that's what I thought. The equalizers are only $17 and I need to pull the old ones to install bronze bushings anyway.

    Thanks for the responses.
