Raising tires for winter storage.

That is sort of what I thought, jacking up the tires is like chicken soup; it cannot hurt.

However actually doing it is not so simple. I have jacked up the tires to change a flat and to check the brakes and it was not all that easy.

To set it up on the frame for winter storage would involve concrete blocks and 2x10 bases on sandy ground. It is probably not going to happen.

I will however keep up the tire pressure for colder weather.

with our TT I left the tires on the ground- never had any problems (Goodyear Marathon's)didn't cover them either. was advised by the factory not to put a cover on the camper.

Never have done that. I change the tires at about 6 years and that wouldn't change if I did jack the MH up. Don't see any reason to do it.

Your friend is joking. Who does that?

Ignore what the dealers do or don't do. They typically have so many rigs on their property it would be a full time job and very expensive to: 1. cover all the rigs, 2. raise them off the ground for storage, etc.

I've never jacked mine up for storage, no problems. I also don't put stabilizers down. It's just chocked and parked. I do put tire covers on the two tires that face away from my garage and get sunlight on them.

I have never jacked up any unit to take pressure off tires (pop ups or travel trailers) in the nearly 25 years I've been RVing. Never had any tire issues.

Goodyear recommends putting the trailer up on blocks.
