T&P seeing you can tune a 5.9 diesel to over a 1000 HP you might want to retract that statement. So adding 125 HP to it should not be a big leap. The drivetrain is what would be the issue I would think.
Don
Seeing that a stock 6.7 Cummins is less than 400HP and it took Cummins almost 25 years to get to that point I'm not retracting anything.
In fact it took Cummins until last year to surpass the Ecoboost in HP. What an engine can handle when hopped up and what the factory is going to turn them up too are two ENTIRELY different things. If I took your analogy Don, since the Hemi can make 10,000 HP maybe Dodge is going to turn it up 2 thousand HP and put it in their PU's. :R
And before anybody jumps on the torque bandwagon let me say this for the billionth time. Torque does not get you up a hill in a timely manner; HP does. My tractor puts out a LOT of torque to the tires but it would make a pi$$ poor TV because it makes only 65HP and it can't even pull 30MPH in high gear up a slight hill because it doesn't have enough HP to do it. When PUT's.com does a tow off between the dino burner and the oil burner it will be very evident to the naysayers that HP rules the roost.
To say the factory is going to turn this engine up 125 HP is ridiculous and silly. The Duramax with WAY more cubes hasn't even achieved that goal in 15 years. They haven't even broke the 100 HP mark yet since they first came out.
Like I said. I'll take that bet.
