Or I have a vivid memory of how products engineered in Europe have functioned in Canada's -40 winters. Diesels are a PITA up here 4 months a year. They are better now, but my faith does not extend to something engineered without North America in mind, and then adapted through some mixed up bankruptcy share swap.
I'd be singing a different tune if they had the 5.0 cummins, that will be THE TRUCK TO HAVE! I won't even pretend that a gasser is better than that.
Sorry that you chose to live where winter temps get to -40 but for the rest of us that is not an issue. Do you think any diesel is going to run well in -40? There is a reason why they make block heaters for BOTH diesel and gas engines, it's for COLD WEATHER! Sorry but not even a gas engine is going to start sitting out in -40*C temps without the aid of a block heater and front cover, not even that 5.0 Cummins!
Given the fact that the VM 3.0 is being used ALL over the world, my bet is they have built in provisions for cold weather use. The highlighted comment shows what your true issues with Fiat/Chrysler, to bad your not man enough to just come out and say it.
