Given the fact that the VM 3.0 is being used ALL over the world, my bet is they have built in provisions for cold weather use. The highlighted comment shows what your true issues with Fiat/Chrysler, to bad your not man enough to just come out and say it.

I can tell you the story of a 1976 Dodge Dart that started in the Montana mountains at -51F without being plugged in to a block heater. One of only 3 that started at a Holiday Inn that morning and the only one not plugged in, many that would not start were heated. Helped start some of the others then went skiing...stupid college kid! Sold that car because my wife to be didn't want a straight stick...stupid again!
