The original reason for this entire thread was and continues to be a discussion about a vehicle that can serve as a daily driver/commuter, and still have enough nuts in the bag to do some work. For me, four wheel drive is a requirement. I can't even get my trailer into the backyard without it. Let alone my north Idaho/eastern Washington winter commute. Talking about manual transmissions in a modern tow vehicle is pretty ridiculous, since you almost can't get one. But you have a point. I may very well buy something else.BillyW wrote:
This is the closest I've seen diesel prices to regular unleaded in years. If it keeps up, many of these arguments will be mute. If only they could improve that meager payload, even a little.
Get rid of the extra cab or crew cab, get rid of 4 wheel drive, and get a manual transmission. Problem solved.
Or grow up, quit whining and buy a 3/4 ton for your needs.
It's ridiculous, wanting to make silk purses out of sow's ears. The truck is what it is, live with it if you buy it, or buy something else that will do the job you need.
