Diesel is the same or 7 cents cheaper here in NW Ohio.
The wholesale diesel price today (no taxes) is 3.04/gal and gasoline is 3.10/gal. This is NOT the pump price.
The average price today for diesel here is $3.85 gas $3.63 so today gas is lower.I bet when the new regs for gasoline go into effect diesel will be much lower than gas again.
What modification is being done and when does it take effect?
New gasoline sulfur regulations. LINKChrysler no longer offers the 4.7. The Ram 1500 engine choices are now a, 3.6 V6, 3.0 V6 Eco-diesel or the 5.7 V8 Hemi. The 3.0 is a $2,850 up charge in a CC 6.7' box, if you go with the short box it is a $4,000 up charge over the 3.6 V6 engine. The V6 gas is not available in the longer WB truck.Nope no manual for the 1500, in any flavor.
Is this the same V6 diesel being offered in the GC? Is it the VM engine or a bastardization of the GM model?
It is the VM LINKIf I were going to tow a TT over 6,500# with a 1500 Ram I think I would look at the 5.7 with the MSD. But since I'm not I will be getting the diesel, now I just have to decide if I want to wait for the 2015's to come out or order a 2014.
The best mileage on the 5.7 is about 12 towing. Why did they drop the 4.7?
The 3.6 Pentastar outperforms it all around. Being a cast iron block it was going to need a complete make over. So out with the old and in with the new. Have to say my 2002 4.7 was nothing close to my 1994 5.2 V8 Magnum. Even though it was rated higher, seat of the pants told me something different.
