Hybridhunter, check out the thread where an intelligent driver was able to traverse some of the gnarliest passes in the country towing a 31' travel trailer without using your abusive wot method. Study these real world experiences & show me where these trucks are falling short of the competition!!!
Intelligent driver? That's an interesting take.
I suppose your hoping everyone who reads that glosses over the times he was short on power? Take the bad with the good, and at least be intellectually honest about it!
That was not an RV sized trailer. I read the whole thing, did you miss the spot where he was unable to pass a slowpoke on account of a moderate headwind? Or the inability to
maintain climbing speed on 2 occasions? That was with a trailer with half the profile of a TT. He was quite thrilled. Sounds like he got the right vehicle for his needs and wants.
The ED has it's place. I don't think that place is towing a trailer with a large frontal area. A few trucks ago I had a torque rich 235hp engine, and that was an annoyance when climbing, and a hazard when passing while towing. It hummed along okay on the flats, with no wind. But so does just about any newer
I enjoy horsepower, my truck sees redline at least a few times most time I drive it, I don't worship or abuse my vehicles, they are beasts of burden, or a source of entertainment, one or the other is not an option for this guy. Synthetic oil, proper maintenance, hammer down, sell it after 3 years. Money is not the issue, I genuinely can't see a point to the ED logically.
And if someone can present a LOGICAL business case, I'll listen. No ad homonym, no hyperbole.
Fingers crossed for the real light duty diesel later this month!
Not even remotely relevant to the post I reference but I had high expectations that you would visit this site with the single minded purpose of reaping more fodder to feed your bashing vendetta. I'm sure you'll be able to find more negative snippets to bring here but I take great solace in knowing you will sort through an exponential number of positive posts in your quest!! I still find it fascinating that you exude such ferver to your "project" in light of the fact you're obviously not interested in purchasing an ed.
