Bottom line, I would want to see oil temps no higher than 260, but we know in the summer that GC will likely see 280's plus. Mandatory synthetic oil would be appropriate. OMG the E-diesel was 10* higher then your 260* max :h Man even 280* for modern full syn oil is not an issue, but nice try.
Truth be told, the lack of power was the bigger issue in that test, 50mph towing a boat? Imagine what a small "house on wheels" behind would feel like. I have towed that section before, and my last truck with the 3.7 (315hp / 295ft/lbs)/ F150 /10'4" tall 8'wide trailer running at full GCVW never had an issue maintaining 60 the whole way. Revving hard, but it was able. What year was that because the 2011 and up 3.7 was only rated for 302HP and 278 FT TQ. So you want us to believe you ran that same pass @ 60 towing a TT in a non turbo vehicle with a max tow rating of 6,100#? So how much for the SF bridge? Your funny.
Torque feels great, but horsepower does the work...
