Diesel and DEF fill...the plug...only a plug for diesel...is this how they do things in the diesel world?
Jeremiah,
Regarding the fuel filler "plug".....the whole idea of a regular fuel cap seems to be going away. Last week I bought a used 2010 Ford Fusion for grand-daughter ( 4 cyl gas ) and it does not even have a "plug". It just has what they call capless fill. Looks kind of dubious to me, but, I guess it must be working....there's only about a jillion late model cars running around with that set up.
My buddy the Ford expert tells me they have gone this way because with a regular cap, when folks forget to put it on correctly and tightly, it causes the check engine light to come on. So I guess this new automatic capless design seals tightly enough on it's own to eliminate that problem.
Another step in the dumbing-down of the general public.....
