1500+ payload? That's pretty good.
For a reg cab 2wd? Not really....
Another owner review of the ED....
A non fanboy ED review
Not terrible mileage, but definitely a bit closer to reality. I'd say an average joe should get around 13 mpg at 70, assuming no goofy driving or hypermiling......
Let's keep it real! This was a couple of short loops to compare handling with & without wd hitch with some heavy acceleration & excessive speeds. If you'd peruse some of his other 1000+ posts, you'd know cap is probably our super nĂºmero "fanboy", as you call it. You'd also learn he has since towed that same load on a real trip & netted 14-15 mpg. In you're attempt to ferret out some negative tidbits, I'm sure you stumbled across rangergress's 2 accounts of towing a 7000# load & getting almost 15 mpg. You've spent a month trashing this truck on grounds of inadequate power. Well, there's now enough positive owner accounts on it's capabilities to put that to rest. So now you're trying to challenge it on grounds of fuel economy?!? Surely you jest!! Find another truck that even comes close, loaded or unloaded. Take your non-expertise speculation & peddle your trash somewhere else.
