I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Ecodiesel engine. Mine does not have a cap that fits in the filler hole. Checked one of their diesel 1500s on the lot and it does. I wonder why. Dealer says none of the diesel Jeeps have the plug. He also said they are having a lot od def issues. Not running dry because both the jeep and the 1500s have def guages but other codes. A big problem with the Jeep def system is it is unprotected under the vehicle and driving on gravel, in heavy rain, on slushy roads and of coarse going off road it is breaking the def injector system off. Puts a whole new meaning to "Trail Rated"
Wow that's scary. Every time I wash my truck I find water in the top of the plug. Without it, the water would wind up in the fuel tank. Designers really missed the boat on that one. Be tempted to borrow one from a 1500 when the salesman turns his head!! Haven't heard of any def problems with 1500's other than a few instances higher consumption than expected.
