Red means "don't go there", unless you want things to get expensive, complicated and broken on your piece of equipment.

Didn't mean to touch any nerves, hence the ;). You're right about the dumbing down in our society, like backup cameras and blind spot sensors to make up for the fact that people can't drive anymore.
My point was more that vehicles are becoming more and more complicated, and DEF is just one more thing that can potentially cause problems. Having said that, today's trucks may not be simple like ones of 30 years ago, but they do everything better and more reliably.
