I don't own an oil burner or ever had but as I was reading this oil change squabble it reminded me of my situation with motorcycle tires.
I had a smallish 1996 Honda VLX 600. She got 55mph, 8000 miles on a rear tire at $110 each and 15,000 miles on a front tire at $90 each (these are year 2000 prices). It was economical to commute on this bike.
I bought a Honda VT1000 Spirit in 2003, 45mpg, 6000 miles on the rear at $250 and 10,000 on the front at $160 (todays prices). It is no longer economical to commute via this motorcycle because the fuel savings is eaten up by buying overpriced rubber. I have to buy 10 rear tires to your one!

2008 - 2010 I waited for Ford to develop their 1/2 ton diesel. I saw this as a perfect fit for ME. For whatever reason it fell apart and they introduced the Ecoboost so that's what I wound up with.
I applaud Dodge for rolling out this combo. I am in no way a Mopar fan but this is a step in the right direction for them. It will be a great fit for many people not requiring HD performance but desire an efficient 1/2 ton. The good ol' boy's down here will be lapping this truck up like sweet tea, I guarantee ya.
Way To Go Dodge! Good Job...
