Im sure you would be fine with either one. My friend has a 1500 ram. They pull their 32 ft 7000lb camper just fine. They did have to add airbags on the rear to keep the coils from sagging too much, but their trailer weighs double what you plan on towing. The coils give a nice ride. I personally dont think dodge are built as well as the rest of the mfgs. I have owned at least 5 new ford 150s. My current truck is a 2012 tundra. My cousin bought a new dodge ram the same year. His frame and body is near rusted out. My toyota has no visible rust.
