Living in WY fuel economy is going to be important. For unbiased actual fuel consumed based raw fuel economy numbers see fuelie for both Eco & Hemi numbers. I go west across WY towing Airstream TTs kept to 65 I average 15 mpg coming back East unloaded cruise on 83 mph I average 23 mpg. I do this often to the tune of 570,000 miles on my 2014 truck. Like Perrysburg I can get 30 mpg kept to 65 on my ED. The difference in fuel economy between the two is stark.
Also 100,000 mile powetrain warranty on ED 60k on Hemi. 6,950 gvwr ED 6,900 Hemi but ED weighs about 80 pounds more than Hemi. My ED has 1,300 payload for things I would put in the bed via sticker but I’ve had 3,000 pound skids of tile in it with Timbergrove airbags. All 4th gens have 3,900 steer & drive ratings for a capable & competitive 1/2 ton platform for towing & hauling. With WDH, scales, setting TW to 12 percent and using actual Ram specs you can tow to an 8,000 pound travel trailer without exceeding any legal or Mfgr spec IE with safety stability.
Ram pumped out 2018 EDs into December as EPA didn’t get the upgraded engine & new body approved for the 2019s. Ram did this so that they would still have EDs until the 2020s arrive. Which it’s already been announced to be available for order 3rd quarter of 2019. Good news is it makes them available to you at a good discount compared to when I had to pay a premium to get one. Thing is the only selection is already on dealer lots until the 20s start to arrive at the end of the year.
We are going to need pics of the new truck towing the utv or you chickened out and it never happened. ;)
