We just bought a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab Bighorn V8 5.7L Hemi with 13,000 miles on it. We love it, and it is a huge upgrade from what we already have. Hubby wanted a new truck, we don't tow a trailer anymore and his knee has been bothering him and wanted to get out of standard transmission. We have a 2001 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4X4 V8 auto (mine), and his other truck is a 2004.5 2500 Club Cab 4x4 Cummins 6 speed. It is amazing how much technology has been added to these trucks in 14 years.
Hubby is having trouble remembering not to reach for the shifter but other than that there are zero issues with our new truck. The transmission dial is very strange. The Hemi and transmission work so well together it's a treat to take a longer drive. I was surprised when I went to make a pass on a two lane highway and that truck shot out in front of me so fast I was startled at the speed of it. There is no need to hit the gas peddle hard, because that truck is gonna move fast. Comfort is amazing as well.
