Ram 1500 snow chains
I'm headed out to chain-up states this December, so I'm researching chains for my pickup, a 2013 Ram 1500 'Outdoorsman' 4x4, with 265/70R17E tires. The owners manual states I need "class s" chains ...

You ever use chains in Michigan?
Didn't think so.
Don't need them out west either, unless you're going off road, towing a trailer over some passes or towing off road.
Presume you're towing a trailer is why you're wanting chains?
Don't forget some for the trailer too if it gets hairy.....
I've lived and played in or near the mountains in the winter for 20 years from AZ to AK and several mountain west states in between and only place I've considered using chains is WA due to the wet slick greasy snow and ice and a few select forest roads I use to go sno machining.
Haven't seen a public road yet in the mountains that if its not closed requires chains for a 4wd passenger vehicle. I'm sure they exist though.
