* 5th wheel prep package
Absolutely worth it. And as stated, if the truck doesn't have the kit it only costs $150. I installed mine on a Saturday. The clean bed is very nice when not towing. be sure to get the in-bed 7-way wiring harness too.
* cargo bed camera
Nice but not a must.
* auto-level air suspension
I have OEM coils and added Timbrens. The truck feels rock solid towing my 5'er. Air ride might be nice but the coils are fine.
* exhaust brake
Included with the Cummins in '14 and newer trucks. Worth it's weight in GOLD. I towed my 5'er on a 10% grade down Teton Pass in Wyoming. The OEM exhaust brake did a fantastic job holding speed and I had to sparingly use the brake pedal.
* bed length
Either is fine. I came across a deal on my 8' bed truck. It's nice to not have a sliding hitch but not a deal breaker. Teh one thing is the crew cab 8' bed is a LAND YACHT. Plan your turns accordingly.
* any others?
Pull out steps at the tailgate are nice. These trucks are tall. I put a Bestop pull out step on mine and it's a big help. I think they are now an OEM option from Mopar.
Definitely go with '14 and newer. This is when the 2500 got the new frame package. And YES, you can tow a 5er with a 2500.
* where to buy?
I found mine on Craigslist. You just have to do a lot of searching.
