Ram 2500 5.7 hemi mpg.....a bit disappointed
The other day we took a trip ftom southern illinois, through st louis, to southern Missouri...a couple of hundred miles each way. Starting out I reset the mpg meter on the dash, and recorded 17.4-1...

I have a 2012 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi, 6-spd auto and 4:10 rear. If I'm going down hill with a tail wind, a full moon and all of the stars are aligned I'm lucky to get 16.5 mpg @ 65 mph.
I chalk it up to that's what it takes to move a 3-1/2 ton truck.
