Since you went there, don’t forget the cost difference of the Diesel engine over the gasser!
I always like this discussion. It almost always is stated to favor the entry fee cost of the gas vs the diesel. What is almost never said is that if you keep the truck ten or more years owning the diesel will get substantially better mileage over that time towing, and almost always better mileage not towing as well; will have an exhaust brake available all the time; will have more than twice the engine torque (with the Aisin transmission) than the gasser and when it all comes to an end will resale for virtually all of the initial entry fee of the diesel engine. So, in the end, the day you sell it, the diesel provided overall the entire time of ownership more benefits, more towing power, better fuel economy, and cost the same or less than the gasser.
