I am not saying he can't or shouldn't be proud of his new truck. I just stated that what he said was not true.
Nothing you provided infers that the OP should not brag about his new truck. You provided some statistical analysis and that came through pretty clearly. And readers understand that. However, the OP was clearly and in several places very happy and excited with his new truck and that part of his (long) narrative was not lost on me in my comments.
While your points are well taken about journalists taking a bias on a position and then presenting the facts to sort of support or prove their point, this is a little different. This is just a guy (not a journalist) super excited about a trip he took in his truck even if some of his inference and assertions of facts do not stand up to statistical scrutiny.
