- JIMNLINExplorer IIINow were getting close to what we lost when the Dodge V10/8.1 GM and Fords V10 was dumped from the pickup market. When the new gen 6.2/6.4 start putting out 450-475 ft lbs I can see one sitting on my wifes side of the garage.
I had mid/late '60s GM 1/2 and 3/4 ton with the coil springs. Lets hope the Rams coils ain't nothing like them as they were flat dangerous with a high COG truck camper in the bed. The coils couldn't control body roll even with a double shock set up. - MM49ExplorerThe Ram will be the best trailer tower of the bunch. The rear coil spring is much more stable than the leaf spring suspensions.

Well that certainly is a contender for the dumbest post I have come across in quite some time. For trucks that are going to be used to tow the SAE J2807 tests are the only ones worth doing, worth reporting, and worth reading.

- TomG2ExplorerAll did a good job of getting 6,000 pound pickups up to speed. The Chevy did sound the best doing it though.
- ib516Explorer IIAll pretty similar performance wise -- even though the GM has less power, the 4.10s it was equipped with (vs the 3.73s in the Ford and Ram) seems to have made up for it to some degree.
I will say this though, not a stinker in the bunch. I'd own any of them. That Chevy 6.0L sounds sweet at the tailpipe, and at full song. - Engineer9860ExplorerInteresting.
