I foolishly got rid of my Ford diesel and bought the Hemi 6.4 having been advised that it would do the job. It did do the job at the expense of mileage. I'm talking in the 6 mpg range in Iowa. I knew the gasser wouldn't do as well as the diesel and was willing to live with it. At 2064 miles every warning light on the dash came on and after 4 days at the dealer the cause has not been determined. The day it happened the first time it produced at least 25 codes according to the mechanic. Only happens after the truck has reached operating temps. The good news is that I was able to trade it for a new Cummins equipped truck and amazingly didn't lose my tail. The truck was invoiced before the price increase at the beginning of 2015 and had enough incentive that I traded for not much more that the cost of the engine.
Yes I was some what discouraged by the performance of the 6.4. Maybe I expected too much. It did do a lot better than the 2011 6.0 Chevy that I had.The shop should have my new truck prepped by Tuesday. I'll let you know what I think of the diesel then.
