Although the Cummins 6.7L is slightly bigger at 408 cubic inches than the 406 cubic inches of the Powerstroke 6.7L.
Part of it may the magic of Torque, the reason low HP diesels can tow as much as high HP gas. More torque means more grunt to get a load moving and keep it moving, and an in line six tends to have mote than a V-8 of the same size.
Part of the reason a majority of OTR trucks run large six cylinder engines.
