Far as leaves (leafs) versus coils go, Coils are cheaper to manufacture and ride better but have no rebound damping at all so, shocks fail sooner.
My truck is an F350 not a 2500 and my spring packs were modified years ago with additional leafs added so I have no idea of the rated load. I can set 2 one tone pallets of fertilizer in the box and the overload leaf never contacts the overload perch snubber
