Based on the previous king of the hill testing at pickuptrucks we already jknow that there is NO performance advantage of the f-450 pickup over the f-350 at any weight at altitude that the f-350 is rated to pull as long as what we are primarily looking at is how long it takes to climb to the Eisenhower tunnel. Similarly it has been repeatedly shown that the Chevy performs better at altitude than the ford . Dyno tests have shown the Chevy making 30 rwhp more the ford. The ford exhaust brake is pathetically weak. So I don't put much stock in manufacturer hp ratings. I expect the new ram with the def system to perform much better than previous. Certainly the exhaust brake has much better performance than the ford. So, with equal or superior engine performance, a newly updated interior, a new transmission, a better exhaust brake, and a higher payload and towing capacity, I don't reasonably see how the ram can lose this test.
Couldn't say how the Chevy would compare, I expect with equal weight it would still be quickest up the hill
I own a 2011 f-450 pickup (and I like it for reasons not covered in this test!)
