Yes i am out of my comfort zone as my gm trucks have never let me down, but i am willing to give it a fair shake.
Sometimes change can be a good thing.
The old "the rest of the truck falls apart around the Cummins engine" was put to bed beginning with the later 3rd Gen Rams, IMHO. From 2006 to present, the "rest of the truck" is actually pretty stout...I think you're going to fall in love with your truck.
I'm going out on a limb a bit, since the all-new 2013's just came out and are thus unproven. But my group is comprised of dozens of 3rd- and 4th- Gen Rams
Dodge Trucks Extreme, most with a Cummins, and we *beat* on these trucks off-road and towing heavy.
(Full Disclosure: We aren't hitting whoops at 50 mph with stock suspensions)
I've got 107k miles, and I don't even have one interior squeak or rattle.
My truck is absolutely the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Hopefully yours will prove this to be true for you as well.
