I haven't owned very many of these Dodge/Ram trucks, and only started in 2010 with my first one, but don't believe you have to wait that long with the newer models....I could tell a difference between the 10 versus the 12' (more TQ in the 12), then the 13' with more HP & TQ along with all the other changes, but other than the tranny breaking in and getting a few miles on the engine, I would highly doubt that the newer Cummins takes anywhere near that long to get "full power"...but, again, I'm only basing that on my short time frame of ownership since 2010...
