If going diesel, I would get the 3500 SRW as it will have around 4000lbs payload (my 2014 has 4074 and about all options available on the truck). I think dually is overkill for a 10k trailer (I will be pulling a 16k GVWR toy hauler with mine). I use mine as a daily driver and it is fine, unless the roads are in bad shape. The 2500's with the different rear suspension ride smoother, but watch the payload capacity on them as it can get eaten up quickly. I hit a patch of interstate in Ohio last summer that about rattled my kidneys out (not towing anything) so it certainly doesnt ride like a half ton:)
