My truck is stock. I didn't spend that kind of $$$ to walk away from a factory warranty.
I certainly don't agree that 11 MPG over 23,000 miles is a "one in a million" truck. As you can see from the app, there are a few fill ups where the truck got less than 8 MPG. There was one fill up near 24 MPG (a 109 mile 55 MPH solo trip). All the fill ups average out to 11 MPG.
As I said, it is a dedicated tow vehicle. I have other cars I would rather drive when I am not needing to tow. Most of them are towing tandem. Some of them (guessing maybe 1/3) are towing just the ski boar or just the fishing boat.
I could take a photo of the app where the number of miles per tank divided by the number of gallons for the MPG, but at this point I am losing interest, and doubt that it would convince you anyway. And, I'm not sure why I care to convince you.
Jim, how much did you actually tow with your 2012?
I want to apologize, because I've totally misunderstood your post, for some reason, why I don't know, but was thinking you were reporting more mpg's than what I read or saw from the pictures. Guess "I", not you, got messed up on what I was reading, so again, I apologize for buying into your numbers...looked at them again, and again, guess that's why I'm kinda dumb that way:)
I towed the same 5er with the 2010, Ram dually, the 2012 Ram Dually and the one I have now( the 13')....loaded to 16,050# over the same terrain, (most towing done in the mountains of NC, VA, TN and WV....I did see 11.5 mpg when towing from NC to WV, believe it or not, it's "more down hill" going in that direction, coming back, I'd get 9.5-9.8 mpg give or take a tenth here or there. Just used the 13' to tow the 5er back home this year, 255 miles, all in the mountains and more "uphill than down" and close to 10 mpg coming back....
Wished I'd looked at your post better than what I did...sorry for "MY" confusion on this end, not your's....
