As I do my research there are a couple things I've found that may be of interest to people looking at these trucks:
The 9000 IMO is pretty low for a 3/4 ton truck. With the Cummins option this gives you less than 2000 payload. Not exactly huge for the capability of the truck. The 6.4 is a few hundred pounds lighter so you have +/- 2200lbs which is a bit better.
The 2500 is the only one with the rear coil springs. The 3500s still have the old leaf springs (and much better GVWR)
My local dealer seems a bit unwilling to come down too much on the 6.4, I'm guessing because it's new. They offered me about 6K off MSRP while a similarly equipped Cummins is closer to 10K below. I really wasn't going to buy so I didn't notice or care too much at the time. If/when I go back I'd definitely try to get it lower. I'm thinking it might just be because they 6.4 is so new. They only had 2 on the lot compared to 25+ Cummins.
I'm probably going to go look at an F250 this week just for comparison sake. Slightly less HP/Torque in the 6.2 but still plenty capable I'd have to think. I like the 9900lb GVWR a lot better on the Ford.
