Have you priced out the cost of a gear swap on the Ford?
In reference to the Ram 6.4 transmission quirks, once you learn how to drive it, you can mitigate a lot of the issues with the programming. My friend hates how towing up grades the 6.4 will remain in 4th gear and drop speed and then eventually slam into 2nd gear and have much higher RPM's. Once he figured out what was happening, he was able to manually downshift into 3rd gear and maintain his speed better. Its annoying, but that is the only issue he has with the truck. Other than that, the 6.4 is a great engine and has lots of power. Its a nice ride in his truck!
