Bought a 2016 closeout F350 Dually 6.2/3.73. I actually paid less than I paid for my current truck.
The test drive was great, truck didn't lack for get up and go. Didn't even feel bigger than my current truck and the ride wasn't as harsh. Cornered unreal compared to my current truck.
I really like the Ford transmission over the Ram, and that is what it came down to. I can upgrade to 4.30 gears down the line if I need to, but I like truck campers, so my total load is maybe 5000-6000lbs, all needing to be carried by the truck in some fashion.
Buying a dually was a long time coming for me, but this is my second truck that I have had to buy Vision 19.5 wheels for, so time to listen to reality. I also carry 5 total passengers, including 3 growing boys. When I am loaded to the max I can get pushed to the max by strong winds, and I often travel cross country and back.
I feel good about the decision and the truck.
