Seems to me the fire would be the issue here. The batteries will take up the slack until they go dead in the case of an alternator failure. It takes time to go flat and there will be plenty of warning that something is wrong.
Also, FCA agreed to send out a recall a month before she had her fire. I haven't received it yet buy I assume my truck will be affected
