My apologies. The only RAMs I've ever shopped for are Chassis Cabs, where more than one Aisin automatic transmission has always appeared on the options list. I always have to read the description on Ram's website carefully, and even then, since both of the Aisins are described as 6 speeds, have finally learned to just check the more expensive one, because the descriptions are identical, even though there is a $$$$ price difference between the two. I also recall one transmission was updated in 2013, and received a new model number designation.
Since the title to this thread said Ram automatic vs Aisin, and didn't say "ONLY in a 2016 3500 DRW pickup", it seemed useful to distinguish which Aisin transmission people were reporting their experiences about, because a 2012 AS68RC might offer a different experience than a 2016 AS69RC, and a 2015 Aisin in a diesel pickup might offer a different experience than a 2015 Aisin in a chassis cab. They are all different part numbers.
