Don, the engine itself is not the issue. It is all the support systems on the truck to satisfy Federal emission compliance. Bosch is the normal culprit when we are getting screamed at by some poor soul that laid down hard earned money to buy a vehicle and it doesn't make it 30 miles home before the CEL comes on. This happens a lot considering that we are the smallest dealer for FCA anywhere near here.
Then add FCA's parts supply system into the mix and you have a real CSI issue. Quite frankly they suck. We have so many recalls going right now that we have to keep separate files by model. One recall we can order all the parts we want. The next one we will get a box of parts for a recall where the bulletin still says parts are not available yet. The one after that they put on their ARO (automatic renewal order) system and send us one at a time when we have 75 people calling us about them and we can't manually order them. To add insult to injury, most of the models have multiple recalls and you can't blame the customers for not wanting to bring it in more than once. We have piles of parts laying around waiting for one 65 cent sunshade recall clip. Which we can't get except on the ARO referred to.
The place has been sold, so I'm getting out before the takeover and won't miss the FCA half of it at all.
