I would have never considered a Dodge truck but this has me interested and I will for sure test drive one. I have always considered Dodge to be the ugly step child of GM and Ford- no longer.
I am going to wait till the new 8 speed GM HD trucks come out and then I will get busy deciding what to buy. (My 2012 only has 92k on it so I can wait another year or so...)
Looking forward to seeing a real test between all three. At 900#'s of torque the Dodge should just crush the competition! Good on Dodge to push the envelope!!!
I've read from a reliable source that the next 2017 Power Stroke will be touting over 1000 ft/lbs. In addition I believe the current Power Stroke/tranny will only require a flash update to achieve this increase.
Im still wondering does the cummins upgrade break the 400hp barrier?
Also I'm pretty sure the DMax will be getting a bump in power too, but they have been pretty tight lipped about it.
I know from personal experience RAM puts more advertised power to the ground than Ford does.
My 2011 RAM in LasVegas put down 304HP out of 350 and the BD Ford only hit 320 out of 400. A 20% loss is normal so RAM actually underrates their trucks and that is something that has been known for a long time.
My over rated Power Stroke sure did dust a pesky driver driving a under rated RAM (13-15) cummins in Dallas this week. My wife was giving me the evil eye, but my son enjoyed the experience though! :B
BTW... Be careful on rear wheel dyno numbers as the driver can make a big difference. :W
Same driver same day same dyno. Did not say RAM had more just deliver more of the advertised percentage.
Like I said the driver can make a big difference.
