So Shiner, which marine Cat 3208 is the most reliable, the NA 210Hp or the full boat turbo'd 435HP version?
In my opinion, that engine was not reliable at any power level especially in applications where it was at full load all the time.
Although, if you needed 210 hp all the time then I would get the 435hp or mid-range version. At least you won't have to be at 100% load all the time and can achieve the same hp needed at lower rpms.
That is actually why there was no significant changes in B10 and B50 percentages with higher power levels. Because as in mich800 story of having a truck with the 200 hp, he needed to run the truck at full load at high rpm all the time just to keep up as to where the higher horsepower variants don't need to run at full load or rpm as much to do the same work.
Same philosophy in regards to 1/2 and HD trucks. Yeah, a 1/2 can tow 10k (which is its max) just like an HD, but you are putting a lot more stress on that 1/2 ton just to move that load versus and HD which is less stressed by 10k.
