Rincon I wasn't trying to cause you an issue only to add perspective for readers. I only addressed you since it was in reference to your post. Not concerned with what consumer reports says etc as an owner operator I drive & maintain well over 100k a year for many years.
I have ALWAYS been a Toyota fan but am not brand blind. You can keep those rose colored Toyota glasses strapped firmly to your head. But if you took them off the world would look different.
I'll keep driving my bought new knock on wood reliable 350,000 mile 14 Ram Ecodiesel. It's never had a motor or trans issue or other major mechanical failure and is worked hard transporting travel trailers from Mfgs to dealerships. Mostly from Ohio & Indiana over the mountains to the west coast dragging boats cars motorcycles & snowmobile back. But it's been reasonably, competently maintained.
If Toyota had brought a small diesel to the table I very much may have a Toyota truck in my driveway. Naturally with some of the worst fuel economy & no diesel option it was out of the question for my needs. I sincerely hope Toyota brings a small fuel efficient diesel to the Tundra in the near future so that Toyota owners can also get 14 & 15 mpg dragging a TT at 65 & 30 mpg hwy when unloaded at 65. Many times I've gotten over 700 miles out of the little 26 gallon tank. Having done that makes it hard to go back to a gasser.
