Yeah & I suspect that was for EPA & governmental approvment. I like Cummins as an engine mfg but Toyota can do better than the 5.0 as nobody has gotten decent fuel economy out of it yet. We will see what's deletes & tunes get but so far the old 5.9s have done better fuel economy power & longevity not that the story has been written yet for the 5.0. IE time will tell. It's a high investment & undertaking for Toyota to bring or develop a diesel for here where the "progressives" in our gov don't want it and the population in general don't know how good it can be.
