Ram sells a higher percentage of heavy duty models relative to half tons, and a higher percentage of diesels in their heavy duty models. So your anecdotal observation may make some sense if you're limiting the population to trucks that are towing.
As far as overall sales numbers go, I have to admit that I don't really care. Ram has definitely become more of a player over the years, though.
