Ram outsells Chevy

I don't understand why people get pissed of if they have an in warranty repair? Our Neon had to have the engine replaced under the extended warranty just before the coverage ended. Worked for me, was happy to get a complete factory engine for $100!

So did I. But Ford fixed their valve cracking problems with a valve sticking problem. :R
There is 41 pages of problems that you can read about. Those people are pissed! Like 10x's

They are trying to Band-Aid up the problem with a software patch but it's a mechanical clearance problem. Depending on how far the clearance is off they might have some success, but A LOT are going to have the head pulled off and R&R'ed. I would be puking if I had to have my 2015, 2016 engine gone into at 5, 10, 15 thousand miles.

We had the same problem years ago with a race engine we were using. Not a fun deal to go through.

We will see though who is going to take the top spot in sales of HD diesel trucks. Interesting times we live in for sure. :)

Wow. I didn't have time tonight to read too much of it; only 5 pages. That is definitely a huge problem.

I also read of 2 high pressure fuel pumps in 2015 models grenading in that 5 pages so that problem clearly still exists even though many here claim it has been solved.

It truly gives me chills to think of the repair bills that owners of these trucks will face when they are out of warranty. It will make 6.0L repair bills look like pocket change.

I'm very happy I switched to Ram/Cummins 2 1/2 years ago. :)

I think this is really interesting as Ram is really rolling on a 7-8yr old design.

This is the first time since 2014 that they have outsold Chevy, and before that it was 1999.

Is guess that the vast majority of new truck buyers have no idea what "major problems" the power stroke has.

I'd even say that is true for the used market with 6.0 buyers. They probably just think they are getting a really good price on a used diesel.

Well if the 6.0 and 6.4 didn't put them under in diesel sales (it didn't. Too many blulaid drinkers. Like democrats, they keep popping out of the woodwork, lol) then the 6.7 issues in a otherwise class leading package won't hurt them significantly IMO.

I think they fixed some of the issues but they still use the CP4 pump, even in the 2017s. GM stepped up and changed to a different HPFP. Might be a good opportunity for the Duramax to pick up some market share from the Powerstroke.

Not only did Dodge finally step up their game 20 years ago which has slowly won over bow tie and blue oval folks, but somehow they marketed their "Tradesman" trucks the last few years very well, as an economical way to having a big tough diesel truck. At least in WA and AK, I see ALOT of Cummins tradesman pkg trucks as personal vehicles. From bro dozers to geezer-mobiles, they're very popular. But I don't see near the volume of HD work trucks as personal rigs from the other 2. Most Dmax and Powestroke personal rigs are higher trim levels.
Ram was able to knock several grand off the price of entry into a new diesel truck and has pulled a lot of new customers like that IMO.
