Neighbor has a 2011 F150. The bed started rotting at 5 years old with 60k. It's now 8 years old and looks terrible. I guess Ford is OK with their product looking like that on the road. And my wife's 13 Explorer has paint peeling off the aluminum hood as well as the rear door inner seems starting to rust!
I'm done with Fords at this point!,,,
gee, I have a 97 F350 with no rust and I live in Michigan. All depends on how you maintain it, how often you wash it and if you wash it off on the underside and wheel wells.
Rust never sleeps but you can mitigate it with proper care. I've seen just as many Mopars with rusted out wheel wells on the bed as I have Ford's and Chevy's.
Fluid film helps too. But you have to use it and wash it to make it last.
Nice comparison using your self proclaimed garage queen, never drive it in the winter, according to previous posts......
News flash. They ALL rust about the same, regardless of who's brand of underwear your wearing. Sidecar is right, it's a large part in how it's cared for. And a large part in how much/where/when you drive it.
