The only time I can think of that torque may be important. You want to pull a tree stump. But if it is pulling a heavy trailer up a 7% grade then it is horsepower.
But the Ford will beat the Ram pulling tree stumps.
The Ford with a 4.1 rear-end and first gear can put down 13998 ft. lbs. to the rear wheel assuming both trucks have the same size tire.
The Ram can only manage 13299 ft. lbs. with a 4.1 rear-end and first gear. That is 699 less than the Ford.
So I would say Ford still is the winner.
