The real tow rating of a truck has always been the GCWR minus the actual weight of the truck. Ram doesn't calculate their tow ratings differently than anyone else. Basically with just a driver and half a tank of fuel in the truck, period. Published tow ratings for North American trucks have never meant anything in the real world..
