Do yourself a favor. Go to the
Ram Truck website, download the 2014 Chassis Cab Owners Manual, and turn to page 378 of 543. There you will find the manufacturer generated, approved, and authorized information regarding the recommended fuel for the 6.4L engine. It says, in part and with emphasis added:
"These engines are designed to meet all emissions regulations and provide excellent fuel economy and performance when using high quality unleaded "regular" gasoline having an
octane rating of 87.
The use of premium gasoline is not recommended, as it will not provide any benefit over regular gasoline in these engines."
It don't get any clearer than that.
